I like the little boy with the plaid paper. It makes the card very different and neat. You don't see a whole lot of cards that would be good for boys.

Yippy, You can see it:)

Thanks everyone for letting me know you can see it...maybe it just needed a rest, lol. Because I could see it fine this morning too.

Stay tuned for the winner posting.
Deneen

Oh, oh...

Is it just me or is my background not showing up? It shows up when I check it out on Blogger, but when I open in a new window it's just gray.....man oh man, and I thought I'd go to bed now, lol.

Phew, the last changes for a while:)

Alrighty then, these are the last changes to my blog for a long while. I didn't like that bright green background, so I finally got around to making my own:) (I used Photoshop Elements.)

And little did I know that when I changed the background all...and I mean ALL...my fonts, colours etc. reset back to the default ones. Sooooooo, I had to go in and individually figure out what I liked all over again.

Look for the posting of the winner, and my next Inspired Stamps card later today!!
Enjoy,
Deneen

Inspired Stamps - Patriotic Card

Hello and welcome here! Yes, you're at the right place, lol. I'm still tweaking my blog, I was on the fence about the background and decided to go with a less distracting one. Now it feels a little dark, but I'll let it grow on me a little and see how I feel in a week...or less:)

This week the Inspired Stamps DT is to showcase a project that is Patriotic. July 1st was Canada Day which celebrated Canada's 144th Birthday, I went with a red and white theme (our flag colours).

Very patriotic if I say so myself, lol. I random stamped the background piece using the circle and outline from 1 Inch Circle Sentiments. The star is from Made by..., I used it around the beaded circle, and in the random stamped background. As I was deciding whether I should try to add a bow or knot, the lightbulb went on and I excitedly decided to go with the red ribbon which symbolizes support for our Canadian troops. *Edited to add* I forgot to mention that I hand wrote the word Canada to add to the banner, and the little flag was clipart I printed off the computer.

Another show of support for our troops is Red Friday, quoted from the Red Fridays Foundation of Canada "Wearing Red on Fridays is a symbolic gesture to show fellow Canadians and our troops that we care and honour those who fought for our freedom, our peace, our resolve."

Inspired Stamps Used:
His Little Ones: Boy Soldier with Helmet
1 Inch Circle Sentiments
More Perfect Sentiments
Made By...

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

I used the Inspired Stamps image His Little Ones: Boy Soldier with Helmet. I used my husbands field hat to get the colours right...I wouldn't want to goof on that, or I'd never hear the end of it from hubby, lol:)

Inspired Stamps are designed and proudly made in the US, hence the US uniform, but that didn't stop me from tweaking it to make it Canadian. As you can see I added a bit of brown in the uniform, and altered it to include the Canadian flag. On the CADPAT (combat uniform) there is only a name tag, so I added hubby's surname, and camouflaged the other one.

Inside:

Recipe: Inspired Stamps-Made By..., His Little Ones: Boy Soldier with Helmet, 1 Inch Circle Sentiments & More Perfect Sentiments, CTMH CS-Tulip & White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Tulip & Black, Memento Black Ink, Nestabilities-Beaded Circles, Circles & Ribbon Banners, Martha Stewart Ribbon Loop Border Punch, Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestones, Foam Squares.

You can see what the rest of the Inspired Stamps DT came up with by clicking on their links located in the sidebar, or head over to Inspired Stamps blog on Thursday, where Antoinette will have them all in 1 post.

Watering Cans

So did you get up to watch the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton Friday morning? I was up in time to see the last prayer, and song while they signed the register and then the ride, and kiss on the balcony. I saw the ceremony later in the day. {Sigh} what a beautiful wedding, I'd love to say it reminds me of ours, but alas, we basically eloped:), but sure brings back the memories of our wedding day!!! It will be 17 years for us in June.

.
Anyways, on to what you came for....Watering Cans. I found the template HERE. It was easy to put together, it's just deciding how to decorate them that takes a bit of time, lol. They're samples for the window ledge at The Scrapbook Cottage.

I love the white embellishements on this one, including the row of pearls across the top edge.

I had so much fun deciding how to decorate them! I also wanted to decorate each one a little different to show the different possibilities with them. For this one, I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the handle.

I love how they all turned out, especially the butterfly one here. I used EK Success Plaid border punch, it's my newest punch and I love it!

This was a fun whimsical one!! I used Martha Stewarts Grass Border Punch and attached it with foam squares to add dimension to the bottom. Since the paper is busy, I used a simple bow to decorate it.

.

And here's what we woke up to this wonderful May 1st morning!! SNOW:) Although I must say, I would much rather take snow over tornadoes. My heart goes out to those who are suffering through them right now....please keep safe.

Thanks for dropping by,

Deneen

Belated Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, we did here in our home.
.
I don't know if we are lucky, or unlucky, lol...our internet and cable went down just before Christmas and the company apologized and said they will be out to fix it.......JANUARY 4th!!!! Yikes, that's 2 weeks with no internet...just think of the emails piling up, not being able to post to my blog. Well, I should look on the bright side, maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket, with this kind of luck we just might win:)
.
I also want to wish you all a Happy New Year!!!
.
See ya in the New Year,
Deneen

I WON SOME STAMPS!!!!!

I can't believe it!! I actually won something.

Antoinette is a CTMH Alumni who just started her own clear stamp company called Inspired Stamps, her blog is also called Inspired Stamps. (You'll find a link to her store there). In celebration of starting her new company, she had a drawing, which I entered, and just found out I WON!!! Yippee. She has such cute stamps, and awesome Scripture stamps...which for those of us who use them, know that Scripture stamps are hard to find.

So I'll be watching the mail like a hawk for the next while, waiting for my new stamps, and I'll be sure to show you my creations.

Be sure to pop by Antoinette's blog Inspired Stamps tomorrow night (Monday Nov. 29th) she's having another drawing, and maybe you'll be the winner!!!

Thanks Antoinette for the opportunity to win, and good luck on your new company!!
