Heartfelt Creations September Alumni Blog Hop

Hello and welcome here!  Okay, where did September go?  I almost forgot about the Heartfelt Creations Alumni blog hop, the end of the month snuck up on me.  If you've come from Alissa's Blog you're on the right track.  If not, you can find the Blog List at the bottom of my post.

Leave a  comment on each blog for a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate.
Contest closes Monday October 2nd 11:59 pm EST. The winner will be announced Oct. 4th on the HC Blog and Facebook page. Good luck and have fun!

 Box Size:  2.75" x 6.5"  (~1.25" high)
I found this box tutorial by Tamra Kilgore-Merill on Authentique Paper's Facebook page HERE. I have recently joined Country Craft Creations Facebook page and let me tell you, it is FULL of great tutorials.

The box could be a fancy gift card holder, or like I am using it here, a little mini album/treasure box.

Keep scrolling to find the hidden treasures of this box!
I used the Classic Rose stamp and dies to create the flowers.

Here's what the closed box looks like from the side.

I used magnets to keep the flap closed (you could also wrap ribbon around to tie it closed if you don't want to use magnets.)

My dad passed away just over a year ago and I wanted a spot to keep the last photos I had taken of  him with the kids.

I used the ornamental die from the Window Box Elements Die set.

The box has a 'wrapper' around it.

The inside box is revealed.  If you're using it as a card, instead of photos you could have quotes.

I used 2 different paper collections, Flowering Dogwood and Classic Rose.

I used magnets to hold the box closed, but again, there is enough room to use ribbon if you wanted to tie it closed.  I use one of the dies from Arianna Lace to look like a clasp holding it closed.

Here's the box!  It holds quite a bit.  I still want to add some tags to write our memories of him down, but I ran out of time.

Heartfelt Creations Alumni August Blog Hop

Hello and welcome here.  It's time for another Heartfelt Creations Alumni blog hop!!  If you've come from Gloria's Blog you're on the right track.  If not, you can find the Blog List at the bottom of my post.

Contest closes Monday August 28th midnight EST.
The winner will be announced Aug. 30th on the HC Blog and Facebook page.
Good luck and have fun!

Today I have an altered item to share with you.
I found this wooden 'C' at Winners.  My friend who is a nurse just finished a course to become qualified to work in the dialysis unit...it was fraught with exams and a practicum. But she did it!!!! YAY!!!  So I wanted to get her a little something in celebration and of course it needed to be dressed up a bit.  What better way than with some Heartfelt Creations flowers!!

I used the Classic Rose stamp and die.  I clear embossed the flowers onto white cardstock.  I then added some coral ink and used my Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to shape the roses.

I wanted the leaves to be soft so I stamped them onto white cardstock and then distressed the edges with the same ink.

For the big rose I used all the same size flower.  I wanted a nice tight rose and I found the best way to achieve this was to use the same size flower.  As I got closer to the center I cut the flower in half so that is was easier to shape around the bud in the middle.

I added some Wink of Stella to the flower petals for just a hint of sparkle.  I also added Nuvo Crystal Clear Drops onto the leaves to simulate dew or rain drops.

I tucked in some springs from the Arianna Lace die set.

I like adding little details to my projects like this motif from the Arianna Lace die set.

Recipe:  HCPC-3752 Classic Rose Stamp, HCD1-7110 Classic Rose Die, HCD1-747 Arianna Lace Die, HCST1-401 Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit, CTMH CS-White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Smoothie & Sea Glass, Versamark Ink, Clear Embossing Powder, Wink of Stella-Clear, Stickles-Crystal Ice, Rhinestones, Nuvo Crystal Drops-Clear, Pearls, Organza Ribbon, Wooden Letter.

Little did my friend know that when I was at her house for some crafting time, I was making these flower for HER!!

Good luck and have fun!

Card Size:  6" x 6"
I made some cards a while ago (Card 1, Card 2) using the Paper Ruffle technique found HERE and I wanted to give it a go with Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose Collection paper!  It looks just like material and it uses up scraps!  As a card maker I don't always make 6x6 cards so I tend to have strips of 12x12 paper left, this is a perfect way to use up those strips!!

I wanted to dress up the ruffles with little flowers so I used the Classic Rose stamp and die to make them.  I have a little tutorial below on how I altered them.  I used the Arianna Lace die to make my border, I have a photo below showing how I did that.

Look at those ruffles!  They look just like material.

I stamped the flowers with Versamark and embossed them with white embossing powder.  I then add some light pink ink for a touch of soft colour.  The flourishes I cut apart from the leaves and tucked in behind the flowers.

Bought flowers (on the right) have that nice little green foliage behind them.  I stamped and cut a small Classic Rose in green to imitate this (on the left).

On the left is the stamped and die cut Classic Rose.
On the right you can see I how I cut each petal to make leaves, basically just make the end pointed like a leaf.

I then inked and shaped them, and attached them behind my flowers!!

I used the Eyelet Oval die to cut out a design on the small inset oval.

On the back of the purple patterned paper I attached each die cut.  I found the center along each side first and attached one there...a little higher than the rest for visual interest. I then added the 2 corners. Finally I filled in the spaces with the other die cuts.  I chose not to do the bottom because it would be hidden by the ruffles.

Recipe:  HCDP1-270 Classic Rose Paper Collection, HCPC-3752 Classic Rose Cling Stamp, HCD1-7110 Classic Rose Die, HCD1-747 Arianna Lace Die, HDD1-776 Eyelet Oval Die, HCST1-401 Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit, small scrap from Delicate Asters Paper Collection, Spellbinders Floral Oval Die, Versamark, White Embossing Powder, CTMH Ink-Baby Pink & New England Ivy, Bazzill CS-purple, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Pearls, Rhinestones, Stickles-Crystal Ice & Lime Green, Foam Squares.

Card Size:  6" x 6"
I tend to lean towards pastel, Spring-like colours but this time I changed things up and went with black, white and red.  The gorgeous paper is from the All Glammed Up Paper Collection.  I decided to leave off the sentiment until I decide what I'll use it for.  I'll just add a flag-type sentiment, tucked in behind the roses.

I used the HCD1-776 Eyelet Oval Die as a frame for my roses and the sprig from the HCD1-747 Arianna Lace Die as filler.

I used the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to make my roses and finished them off with some red Stickles.

Recipe:  HCPC-3752 Classic Rose Stamp, HCD1-7110 Classic Rose Die, HCPC-3545 Open Leaf Stamp, HCD1-736 Classic Leaf Die, HCDP1-260 All Glammed Up Paper Collection, HCD1-776 Eyelet Oval Die, HCD1-747 Arianna Lace Die, Bazzill CS-Black & Red, CTMH CS-White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Grey Wool, Cranberry & New England Ivy, Foam, Stickles-Xmas Red.

I made a hanging ornament this month.  I used a 3 3/4" diameter styrofoam ball as my base.  I covered it with 4" wide organza ribbon and then added Arianna Lace Die diecuts and the flowers are from the Birds & Blooms set.  I stamped the flowers and cut them out using the matching die, I then coloured the tips of the flowers using Faded Jeans Distress Ink, I then shaped them using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.

I attached the flowers using a straight pin, I then added Silver Ice Stickles to the centers to hide the pin.

Recipe:  Styrofoam Ball 3.75" dia., 4" Wide White Organza Ribbon, Lace Ribbon 1/4", CTMH Ink-Whisper, Distress Ink-Faded Jeans, Stickles-Silver Ice, HCSTI-401 Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit, HCPC-3644 Birds & Blooms Stamp Set, HCD1-756 Birds & Blooms Die, HCD1-747 Arianna Lace Die.

Heartfelt Creations April Blog Hop

Hello and welcome here!   It's time for  Heartfelt Creations Alumni May Blog Hop and this month I get to start us all off.  You can find the Blog List at the end of my post!  At the end of the month, past HC DT members get together for a Blog Hop full of inspiration using some of our favorite Heartfelt Creations collections!

By visiting all the stops and leaving a comment on each, you'll be entered for each comment (one per blog) to win a $25.00 gift certificate to the Heartfelt Creations store! Contest closes Monday May 1st midnight EST.  The winner will be announced Apr. 3rd on the HC Blog and Facebook page.  Good luck and have fun!

 Card Size: 6.25" x 6.25"
Doesn't it feel Spring-y!?!  I used the Flowering Dogwood Collection and since I don't have the matching stamp set yet, I used my Botanical Rose stamp set and Distress Inks to make the flowers.

I used the Eyelet Oval die as a mat for my flowers and pinwheel.

I layered some of the flowers.  I also shaped some of the same flowers differently.  I love how you can get different looks with the same stamp set.

I love the dimension you can achieve.  People are always amazed the first time when you show them how a flat piece of cardstock jumps to life when you ink and shape it.

For my pinwheel I made a little template for the individual vanes, I traced it and fussy cut it out 7 times.  I then folded them and joined them together to make my finished pinwheel.  As an added surprise I die cut one of the Arianna Lace dies and folded it to attach to the center, I finished it off with a rhinestone.

Recipe:  Heartfelt Creations Flowering Dogwood Collection, Botanical Wings Die, Botanical Wings Stamp Set, Eyelet Oval Die, Arianna Lace Die, Classic Leaf Stamp Set, Classic Leaf Die, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Bazzill CS-green, CTMH Ink-Whisper, Distress Ink-Dusty Concord, Scattered Straw, Faded Jeans & Aged Mahogany, Foam Squares, Rhinestones, Viva Decor Glitter Holo Iridescent.

Now it's time for you to hop on over to Kathy's Blog.  Good luck with the contest!
Enjoy!
