Heartfelt Creations Purse with Template

Hello and welcome here!  Time for some more Heartfelt Creations inspiration, so be sure to check out their site, or I have the DT links in my sidebar you can click on.  Today HC is doing a cross promotion with Scor-Pal! So each of the projects today feature a Scor-Pal product(s).  I highly recommend using Scor-Tape to assemble the purse (and that's not just because we are doing a cross promotion, lol, but I found out the hard way that glue dots, glue stick etc., even Tombow adhesive doesn't hold it together.)

Purse Size:  approx. 6" x 2.25" x 6.75"(H)
This purse was so much fun to design.  For the Template and Instructions, please scroll down.  I originally found the template on the wholesaler biz, but it's no longer there, so I've added it below for you to enjoy.  It was created by Bridget Louw.

Purple is one of my favourite colours, so I used HC Delicate Asters Collection to create my purse. The buckles are just pieces of CS and I used my X-acto knife to cut slits close to the top and bottom, I then wove my straps through the buckle and adhered the whole buckle piece to the purse.

Front of purse detail, the pocket opens!

I stamped the Daisy Patch flower onto light purple CS and then used the matching Daisy Patch die to cut out 2 flowers to layer and embellish my pocket. A piece of velcro holds the pocket closed.

I added some details to the side of the purse as well. I trimmed the flourish on the Decorative Chateau Gate to add here and beside the pocket on the front.

For the back of the purse I kept it simple and just added the flourish from the Ornate Gateway die.

Recipe:  HC PP-Delicate Asters Collection, HC Dies-Ornate Gateway Die, Decorative Lace Border (used on the handle), Decorative Chateau Gate & Daisy Patch, HC SS-Daisy Patch Flowers, Paper Blossoms Molding Mat & Tool Kit, Bazzill Mono CS-Pansy & Ivy, Black CS, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Recollections Pearl Brad, Glitter Brads, Pearl Swirl, Paper Studio Gemstones, CTMH Ink-Gypsy, Foam Squares, X-Acto Knife, Velcro.

Purse & Pocket Template with Instructions

To PRINT the Purse Template to the size I used, I saved it and then opened it in Publisher...enlarging it until it reaches 11" (the full length of your page), print it twice, cut it out (cutting off the black lines) and adhere the 'middle' pieces of your half purse together to form a FULL purse. (you will turn the one piece before adhering)

This is now the Purse Template you will use to trace onto your CS, or patterned paper. I added the Buckle and Strap measurements right to the Template so that you have them right there each time you use it.

Do not score and fold your Template, these are the guides to show you where you will score and fold the actual purse you are going to use.

You will cut 4 Buckles (1" x 1.25") and 2 Straps (0.75" x 12").  Don't forget to use your X-acto knife to add a slit at the top and bottom of your Buckle to slide your Strap through.

For the Pocket, I used the same steps as the Purse for printing and cutting out...the only difference is that it needs to measure approx. 6.25" long (from the top of the rounded edge to the bottom).

Have fun making purses!!
For more purse ideas you can see 2 of my older posts HERE and HERE.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Top Tip Tuesday Treat Box

Hello and welcome here! It's Tuesday again, and that means it's time for a Top Tip Tuesday Challenge.  This time the Challenge is to make a project that is Good With Food, so any type of container,  box or basket, or if you've made homemade jam you can make it pretty with your scrapbooking supplies.  Elaine is sharing a Tutorial on Chocolate Bar Wrappers.

Challenge - Good With Food
Tutorial - Chocolate Bar Wrapper by Elaine

Size: 3" Square,  approx. 5" tall
First off, I cannot take credit for this cute little box.  I found the Box with 2 Drawers post on Mariannes papirverden, the only down side was that I couldn't find instructions for it, so I figured out the measurements and will post them for you below.

I figured it was the cutest little box to send treats in! (It will also hold 4 tealight candles like Mariannes box does.)

The Crafty Pad - 2 Digi Images

Here's a view with the drawers closed, I didn't have any fancy drawer pulls, so I improvised by using grosgrain ribbon (hole punch 2 holes, knot ribbon on the inside of the drawer.

I made a little pocket for a tag, so that you had somewhere to put your greetings.

Since Christmas is coming up, I decided to make a Christmas-y box, I used Spellbinder's Layered Poinsettia's on the sides, and some Crystal Ice Stickles.

Recipe:  PP-My Mind's Eye Indie Chic Saffron "Free Spirit" Daisy, Indie Chic Saffron "Create" Lattice & American Craft Mulberry Glitter Paper, Cream CS, Spellbinders-Layered Poinsettia & Labels 20, Martha Stewart Cherish Border Punch, Cream Pearls (coloured with Copic Y17), Pink Organza Ribbon, Cream Grosgrain Ribbon, Hole Punch, Crystal Ice Stickles.

2 Drawer Box or Treat Box Measurements

I didn't think about taking pictures as I made this, so I will only be able to give you written instructions, sorry about that.
  • Cut out 2 of each of the pieces, scoring where indicated.
  • Assemble Drawers, with the tabs inside
  • Assemble Drawer Wrapper, the 1 1/16" end sections will overlap each other (you'll 'sandwich' your adhesive here)
  • Stack the 2 Wrappers adhere together, insert Drawers into Wrappers
  • If you would like a fancy edge along the top of your box be sure to cut where indicated in photo.
  • To assemble the Container pieces, overlap at the 3 1/16" sections (this will attach to the bottom of your Drawers). See photo below

  • You will 'wrap' the Container pieces up around the Drawers.
  • Decorate as desired!

Cornish Heritage Farms Shaped Card

This is my second post for today, so if you're looking for the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge, please scroll down:)

Hello and welcome here.  I hope you're enjoying nice weather where you are, the leaves are already turning and the weather is getting cooler here, but it's been very nice.

For the Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge Kris has chosen:
Shaped Card

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
Boy, I tell ya, I have the hardest time photographing and editing white cards....hmmm, next time I'll try a different background.  Anyways, I found this template quite a while ago at Stampington & Co. and it's called Darling Dress, it's only in PDF format now....I have other dresses HERE if you would like more inspiration.

I used the Cornish Heritage Farms rubber stamp set called Beautiful, and it can be found in the store right now, just click on the link. I used one of the flourishes along the bottom edge of the skirt or pinafore, and along the shoulders to balance things out.  I added some pearls and a nice big satin bow to complete the dress.  The funny dots along the stamped edge on the bottom are Viva Decor Glitter dots...but it's difficult to photograph it:)

Inside:
For the inside of the card I used the same stamp set, Beautiful, and used the word 'Beautiful' that comes it, and a different flourish.  I love flourishes and this is one of my favourite sets to use.

Recipe:  CHF Rubber SS-Beautiful LL6004, CTMH CS-White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, Distress Ink-Fadded Jeans, 7/8" Celebrate It White Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Viva Decor HoloIridescent Glitter Liner.

Purse Size: approx. 6.5" x 7" (tall)
I decided to share a gift bag in the shape of a purse.  I found the template HERE, but I see that the post is no longer there so I'll have the template I saved from there at the bottom of this post...I just wanted to give credit to the original creator.

Stamp and Create - $25 certificate for the store

Robyn's Fetish - 4 stamps of your choice

It's super easy to put together and I have other samples HERE if you would like to see them.

Here's another angle of the purse.

Tip - I didn't have a pink flower so I coloured my paper flower lightly with a Copic Marker - R83 - and added some drops of the Colorless Blender to soften the look.
Recipe: CS-Brown & Cream, EF-Provocraft Tiny Mosaic, Spellbinder's-Twisted Metal & Tags Accents, Prima Flowers, Copic-R83 & 0, Brown Lace, Pearl, Rhinestone.

Here's the Purse Template I saved from the website I shared above:
Right click on the template and save.  Open a Word document and change the Margins so that they are at zero...be sure to do this BEFORE inserting template.  Insert Photo and the template should take up the full 11".  Print the template twice, cut out both (cutting off the black lines), attach the 2 pieces together along the center line (fussy I know, but then you end up with a nice size gift bag.) Transfer the score lines to your purse, but DON'T score your template...they're there for reference. Your template is ready to use.
.
Buckles: 1" x 1.25" (4)--I cut 2 slits with my X-acto knife, one near the top and one near the bottom, so that I can slide the handle through.
Handles: I cut mine 3/4" rather than 7/8" like Bridget did. Cut 3/4" x 12" (2)
.
I cut my purse inserts - the cream CS - slightly smaller than my purse template, embossed and attached to the front and back.

Be sure to use Sookwang Adhesive to join your purse together!! When I used other adhesive, it kept wanting to pop apart, but when I used Sookwang, it stayed together.

I just realized that I will have to go make a copy of the pocket!  That was part of the Template on the website.

Enjoy,
Deneen
