A Simple Thank-you Card

It Challenge time again at Heart 2 Heart Challenges. It's Thanksgiving this coming weekend for our friends to the south, and so the challenge is Thanks - In the spirit of Thanksgiving, make a thank-you card.
.
Here is my Thank-you card. I wanted to try out my new Nestabilities Labels Seventeen, and so I kept it clean and simple. I layered 3 different sized organdy ribbons, also used Impressabilities and finished it off with some pearls.
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

Recipe: CTMH PP-Verand Creative Basics, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Cocoa & Garden Green, CTMH Ink-Black, Creme Brulee, Garden Green, Chocolate & Bamboo, CTMH SS-A Little Everything & Tender Tags, Nestabilities-Labels Seventeen & Floral Accents, Impressabilities-Flourish, Pearls, Foam Squares, CTMH Colonial White Satin Edge Organdy Ribbon, Organdy Ribbon-7/8" & 1.5".

It was a nice break from thinking Christmas. I was hoping to have my new SOTM - A Little Thanks, to show off, but I didn't get it yet so I used A Little Everything. Here's a picture of the SOTM for November:

Stationary/Gift Boxes for Craft Sale

Welcome here. I finally have some time to share with you some of my creations! For the past few weeks I was working hard at having a variety of items to sell at the Craft Show in the mall. Here's my table. (It's 3 photo's put together...the table wasn't really curved.)
I had 'Clearance' cards...cards that I had around for a while that I wanted to move. My style has changed somewhat, and they were not as detailed as the cards I make now...so I labelled them Clearance $2. You can see the Purses behind the containers, I was selling them for $4 (I only sold 2:( I thought they would be a hot seller.) Many, many people did comment on them. I think next time I will buy chocolates to put in them to give people an idea. I did have pretty tissue in them. The mini-purses I sold for $2, they sold well. And I had 2 containers of 'Variety' cards $4 ea. or 3 for $10.
I forgot one tag...for the Gift Boxes $1, made from Christmas Card fronts. They were a great size for Gift cards or other small items. I didn't think about having a sign until the night before...not sure what I was thinking, so I quickly made just a simple one. Next time I'll have a better one. I handmade my own business card holder (I'll show at another time). Then I had 2 containers of more $4 cards, Thinking of You (all cards had those words on them), and Masculine cards. Behind them I had my Stationary Boxes...which I'm showing you today. Because of the time put into them I was charging $5...not one of them sold. But I did 'give' one to a lady that bought over $40 worth of cards...as a thank-you. I may use that as a tool next time too. Buy $25 and choose a free Stationary Box.
I actually had more items to sell than I thought, lol. I needed another little table. I had one more container of $4 cards...Birthday & Baby cards (they had HB or Baby sayings on them). My Journals sold for $5 and I was left with only a few masculine ones. I actually had 3 containers of my $1 Christmas Cards (this photo was taken on the 2nd day...I forgot my camera on the first day), they sold very well...all but 1, cute snowman cards were gone the first day. I didn't sell 1 Stocking Gift Card Holder. Not sure if they were priced too high - $3 - or just not a good item this year.

.
I also had Binder Clip Photo Holders...which all sold the first day as well. I was selling them for $1. I forgot to take any pictures of them. But I have an order for 25 more, so then I will take pictures of those ones to share with you. Here are the Stationary/Gift Boxes I made. I made 2 of each style. CLICK HERE to take you to the instructions and measurements on how to make the boxes.
Not sure why it photographed greeny, but it is blue and cream (Colonial White).
Again it photographed with a green tinge...I think because it was bigger and sitting slightly ahead of the lights.
This really is cream, purple and greens.
This is cream and pinks.
This is cream, blue-green and yellow.
Sorry I didn't take the time to write up a recipe for each one, but if there is a particular one that you were wondering about, just let me know.
.
Hope you enjoyed the boxes, and seeing my Craft Show table!

Pretty Princess Castle Card

It's Challenge time again!! This week the challenge on Heart 2 Heart Challenges is Pretty Princess - Make it Frilly and Girly!
.
What could possibly be more girly than a princess? Nothing...lol, but I thought a pretty Castle Card would be perfect for a pretty princess. I created the Castle Card Template and posted Castle Card, Template & Instructions about a year ago. (You can click on the link to take you to the template & instructions).
.
Here's the card I created for the Challenge:
This year daughter #2 is turning 9, so this card is for her. The '9' is stamped onto Chocolate CS, and then covered with Prisma Glitter...which photographed greeny instead of sparkly.
I added the balcony by punching the border out of White Daisy CS and curving it. It's difficult to see in the photo. I added a ton of Rhinestones for sparkle, and finished it off with flowers and bows.
Recipe: CTMH PP-Cherry-O & Topstitch, CTMH CS-Blush, White Daisy & Chocolate, CTMH Ink-Outdoor Denim, CTMH SS-Rustic Numbers, Just Blooms Spring Blossoms, Just Blooms White Daisy Variety Pack, Nestabilities Labels 4, Martha Stewart Punch-Rain Drop, Eyelet Lace & Ribbon Loop.
.
Now it's your turn, what will you create that is Pretty Princess? If you're needing more inspiration you can check out the other great designs by the H2H Design Team, their links are in my sidebar, or you can click on over to Heart 2 Heart.
.
I had a great weekend at the Craft Show. I'm planning on sharing photo's of my creations later this week, so be sure to check back!

Stocking Gift Card Holders.

Good morning! The challenge this week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges is Shaped Cards - no rectangular or square cards.
.
As you may know, I am super busy trying to finish up cards and projects for this coming weekend's Craft Show. I just happened to be working on these Stocking Gift Card Holders. I found the template at Waltzing Mouse Stamps. I kept them fairly simple since I plan to sell them for $3. Hopefully that's not too much, whatcha think? Too much? I would have like to add faux stitching to the toe and heel, but time-wise (I made 10 of each colour) it was going to take too long.

Recipe: CTMH PP-Aspen L2, CTMH CS-Outdoor Denim, Colonial White & Sky, Cuttlebug Snowflakes EF, Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Foam Squares, Rhinestone.
.
Recipe: CTMH PP-That's Amore L2, CTMH CS-Blush & White Daisy, Cuttlebug Victoria EF, Martha Stewart French Scroll Border Punch, White Grosgrain Ribbon.

Can you believe it's November already? It also happens to be Monday and that means it's challenge time on Heart 2 Heart Challenges. Whew, this was a tough challenge for me this week. Recipe: CTMH CS-Sunset, Indian Corn Blue, Brown Bag and White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, Sunset and Chocolate, CTMH SS-The Present, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Pearls, Foam Squares, Nestabilities-Labels 4 and Flourish Accents, Cuttlebug Victoria EF, Martha Stewart Layered Arches Border Punch.

More Super Simple Christmas Cards

I've been super busy getting ready for the Christmas Craft Sale at the mall (Nov. 12th & 13th). But I had some time today to take a few photos of some of my $1.00 Christmas cards. Both cards are inspired from cards I saw in the PaperCrafts - Holiday Cards magazine.

I made 20 snowman cards. At a dollar, I think they'll go pretty fast 'cause they're so cute.
.
It's difficult to see, but I used white textured and dark blue textured CS. I cut out the snowflake with the Cuttlebug Snowflake Die. I made this style in 3 different colours. I made around 16 of each colour...an odd number I know, but it's an even number out of a piece of 12x12.
I added stickles to the snow inside the cards. I have a red snow flourish in the red card, and a purple flourish in the purple card.

Enjoy,

Pumpkins!!

The challenge this week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges is Halloween - Create a Halloween project or, if you don't celebrate Halloween, include pumpkins in your project. This was actually a bit of a challenge for me. Our kids do go trick or treating, but I am not into witches and skulls etc., so the Halloween stamp sets do not appeal to me. And I only have some retired sets with pumpkins/Fall theme and that would just 'tease' you since you can no longer purchase the sets through CTMH. So, I finally went with making pumpkins.

You may remember my Pumpkin Patch post from last year, the basic instructions can be found there too. This year, I changed the pumpkins up a bit.
This time I made them with NestabilitiesBig Scalloped Circle, and Oval, and embossed a design on them. I am really pleased at how this set turned out. I used Autumn Terracotta, and Olive CS. I sent them through the Cuttlebug using the biggest Oval, and the second biggest Circle (of the Big Scalloped sets). I then used different Cuttlebug Embossing Folders to emboss patterns on them. The vines are paper coloured wire from Dollarama, wound around the end of a paintbrush to make them spiral-ly.
.
Here are some close-ups.
I used D'vine Swirls EF, and rubbed Autumn Terracotta ink over the embossing to highlight the swirls.
.
I used Swiss Dots EF, and sanded the CS to reveal the white core.
.
I used the Paisley EF, and didn't ink or sand the CS.
.
I used the Victoria EF, and rubbed the Chocolate ink pad over the embossing.
.
Be sure to check out the amazing creations by the other members of the DT. Their links are in my sidebar, or go on over to the Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog. This week is another 4 for 40 Challenge - if the number of players reach 40, one lucky winner will receive 4 handmade cards by Kelly.

Super Simple Speedy Christmas Cards:)

Do you think I could fit any more 's' adjectives in the title, lol? It's challenge time again on Heart 2 Heart Challenges. This week it's
Embossing - Add dry, or heat embossing on your project.

.
I saw a card like this in PaperCrafts - Holiday Cards, and knew it would be a great card to make a lot of. I made a total of 36 cards in 3 different colours. I plan to sell them for $1.00 at a craft show next month, so they needed to be quick, easy, elegant cards.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

A Card with Leaves - H2H Challenge

Happy Thanksgiving Day (for us Canadians).
Hope my fellow Canadians are enjoying family time, and thinking of all we have to be thankful for!
.
Here I thought I'd have more time to work on cards after last weekend, {sigh} time seems to have a way of getting away from me, I can't believe another week has gone by and I haven't posted anything. I've been busy trying to get cards done for a November Craft Fair, I'll eventually get around to taking pictures, and posting for you to enjoy.
.
This week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges the challenge is Trees and Leaves - create a project that incorporates trees and/or leaves.
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
Here is the card I created to inspire you.
I clear embossed the leaves. For the orange leaves I sponge daubed Sunset onto the leaf, and then rolled the stamp edges on the Sunset stamp pad, then stamped my image onto the CS. I then covered the leaf image with clear embossing powder. The image stays moist enough to hold the embossing powder and when heated, leaves a nice bumpy look.
Recipe: CTMH PP-Olivia, CTMH CS-Garnet, Cocoa, Colonial White & Sunset, CTMH Ink-Chocolate, Garnet, Cocoa, Honey, Sunset & Black, CTMH SS-Timeless & The Present, Clear Embossing Powder, Foam Squares, Pearls, Martha Stewart Rain Drop Corner & Border Punch, CTMH Satin Edge Colonial White Organdy Ribbon, Nestabilities-Fancy Tags.
It's a 4 for 40 week on H2H, that means if we reach 40 players, one lucky winner will receive 4 handmade cards by Jessica. So why don't you join us this week, we sure would love to reach 40 players! If you're needing more inspiration, be sure to check out the fabulous creations by the other DT members, their links are in my sidebar, or click on over to the Heart 2 Heart blog.
Enjoy your pumpkin pie,

Girly Birthday Card for H2H Challenges

Good morning, hope you all had a great weekend! I was at a Creative Gathering organized by Sharon and team from The Scrapbook Cottage. It was AWESOME!!! I was able to get 10 Stationary Boxes put together, I just need to add the final details. And I started on some wedding cards. I was hoping to get more done, but I also taught 2 classes, one on Candle Stamping, and the other on Smooch. Plus I had to eat somewhere in there, lol, and of course SHOP. I made some new friends...Hi Charlene, Jenny, Melanie and Marlene Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net ...we had tons of fun, I wished we had more hours to crop. {sigh} I guess there's always the next one.
.
Now, on to business:) This week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges it's a Birthday Challenge - Make any Birthday themed project. I needed some little girl birthday cards, so it was perfect timing.
.Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
.
I made a card similar to this for a swap I'm in, I liked the design so much I used it on this card too (I'll be posting my swap cards once I get them!).
And what little girl doesn't love glitter and bling? So I made sure there was plenty on the card:) The candle is embossed with Black EP and I curled it slightly so that it has a 3D look, I added a row of Foam Squares (cut in half) down the middle of the candle to keep the curved look.
.
Recipe: CTMH PP-Cherry-O, CTMH CS-Cocoa, Sweet Leaf and White Daisy, CTMH Ink- Black, CTMH SS-Candlelight, Family Ties-Children and A Little of Everything, Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Foam Squares, Versamark, Black EP, Prisma Glitter, Rhinestones, Pink Stickles, Martha Stewart Scroll Lace Border Punch.
.
If you need more inspiration, be sure to check out the DT samples, you can find their links on my sidebar, or you can head over to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog. We'd love to see your Birthday Creations! Post it to your blog, or other public forum and then add your link on the H2H blog.
