Inspired Stamps Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome here! Today is the last day of Inspired Stamps Sneak Peeks. All stamp sets revealed this week will be in the store tomorrow at noon!

Today I am sharing the stamp set Nativity. It comes with the stable, baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the star, a verse and 2 Christmas sayings! I was able to use every one of them on my card.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

This style of card is called a Bendy Fold Card and I thought it was perfect for the Nativity stamp set. I have instructions below.

Here's a top view showing the bends.

Mary and Joseph were coloured with Copics.

Top Tip Tuesday Guest Designer

Hello and welcome here!!! I'm so excited to share with you that the card I had entered at Top Tip Tuesday (TTT) Shabby Chic Challenge won Special On The Spot Prize!! You can see all the details HERE. As a result of that card, I was asked to be a Guest Designer for the month over on Top Tip Tuesday!!!! How exciting is that!?!

TTT is celebrating its 1st Birthday and so the Challenge is - BIRTHDAY. Here is my card to help inspire you.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

This type of card is called a Wiper Card...that is the Tip being shared over on TTT this week, and you can find a Tutorial of the Wiper Card at TTT on how to make one yourself.

Here's what it looks like open, the 4 pops out of the top of the card!!

If you choose to join in the TTT Challenge and link your creation, you have a chance at winning a prize from one of this week's Sponsors:

I want to thank Robyn's Fetish for giving me the image I used today...isn't he cute? It's a digital image called Fireman Jim, and he's mine to keep, just for being a Guest Designer. Thanks so much!!

Now for some more images of my Wiper Card.

Here is a top view of the card. I was trying to think of what I should have popping out of the card, and I thought the birthday boys age would be fantastic. I used my Slice to cut the number, and shadow out. I embossed the number 4 with D'vine Swirl and added Stickles to make it look like flames! I trimmed around the base of the 4 so that the excess wiper part wouldn't be seen.

I also wanted to embellish the back of the card...I thought it would be the perfect place where you could write a message to the birthday boy. From the back view the 4 didn't look so nice so using the Slice again, I cut out the shadow for the 4 and then attached it to the back. The Wiper piece is now hidden between the front layers and the back layer.

I used Copics to colour him in, and added a few details with a white gel pen.
Skin-E000, E00, YR00
Hair-E23
Jacket-Y15, N7
Hat/Boots-R08, R27, N7...silver gel pen for the badge
Hose-E42, E43...Smooch Gold Lame for the nozzle
Sky-BG0000, BG00

I added Stickles to the swirls and the yellow piece to make it look like fire.

I tried to catch the shine from the silver gel pen and gold Smoochin this photo. I also added a few Stickles to the water spraying out of the hose.

Don't forget to link your Birthday Creation for a chance to win, over at Top Tip Tuesday. Maybe YOU could be chosen as a Guest Designer.

I like the little boy with the plaid paper. It makes the card very different and neat. You don't see a whole lot of cards that would be good for boys.

Butterfly Easel Card

Hello and welcome here! Today I have a Butterfly Easel Card to share with you. I found the idea over on Keenan Creations. I just purchased Wonderful Wings from Spellbinders and wanted to give it a try with my new butterflies.

Card Size: 4" Circle

I used Glitter Ritz Cool Highlight on Outdoor Denim CS for the base of the butterfly, it really gives it a sparkle. Unfortunately the camera doesn't do it justice.

TIP: My friend found this tip online and told me about it, and now I want to share it with you:) Before cutting out the detailed butterfly, give the die a good wipe with a dryer sheet, the butterfly comes out really easy then. With all those little pieces the paper likes to stay stuck in the die and quite often you end up ripping it as you take it out.

Recipe: Patterned Paper-My Mind's Eye Vanity Fair Collection 6x6 & Crate Paper Random Collection Curtains, CTMH CS-Outdoor Denim, Juniper & White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Creme Brulee, Juniper & Black, Flourishes Stamps-Taglines, Glitter Ritz-Cool Highlight, Marianne Designs-Doily LR0152 & Flourish LR0116, Nestabilities-Wonderful Wings & Ovals Large, Recollections-Floral Embellishments & Rose, Pearls, Rhinestones, Satin Edge Organdy Ribbon, Foam Squares.

Challenges Entered:
Top Tip Tuesday - Easel Card
Charisma Card Challenges - Inspired By A Song...The Wind Beneath My Wings:)
Crop Stop - Use Your Spellbinders
Catered Crop FTR20 Challenge - Butterflies, Flowers, Sentiment, Glitter, Pearls, Rhinestone, Ribbon, Stamping Ink & Die Cuts.

Thursday Inspired Stamps Post

Hello and welcome here. I'm continuing as part of the Inspired Stamps Design Team for the Fall!! There are 8 other creative DT members for the Fall, their links are in my sidebar, so be sure to pop by their blogs and say hello.

This week the DT will be inspiring you to use a Scripture and a Character on a project. I couldn't decide what colour scheme to go with so I did 2 cards with the different colours to show you.

Card Size: 5" x 5"

I went with a creamy colour scheme for my first card, I wanted to use the new My Mind's Eye Vanity Fair 6x6 Paper. I worked a little magic with the sentiment, inking up just the word's I needed to fit on the front, and then inked up the rest of the verse for inside the card. I then paper pieced the little girl's p.j.'s.

Inside:

Recipe: Inspired Stamps-His Little Ones-Girl Praying, Inspired Stampers' Favorite Collection #1 & Flowers, PP-My Mind's Eye Vanity Fair 6x6, CTMH CS-Colonial White & Lagoon, CTMH Ink-Black, Creme Brulee & Juniper, Distress Inks-Antique Linen & Stormy Sky, Nestabilities-Lacy Squares & Labels 12, Martha Stewart Pinking Scallop Border Punch & Floral Tile Punch All Over the Page, Lace Ribbon, Copics Used: Skin-E000, E00, E11, YR02, Hair-E08, E15, E18, E19, Eyes-BG15.

And because I also envisioned this card in purple...one of my fav. colours, I photographed one to show you...everything is the same except the colour and ribbon.

Inside:

Recipe: Inspired Stamps-His Little Ones-Girl Praying, Inspired Stampers' Favorite Collection #1 & Flowers, PP-Harmonie Bella Bohemia Petite Fleurs, CTMH CS-White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, Creme Brulee & Pansy Purple, Nestabilities-Lacy Squares & Labels 12, Martha Stewart Pinking Scallop Border Punch & Floral Tile Punch All Over the Page, Organdy Ribbon & Grosgrain Ribbon, Copics Used: Skin-E000, E00, E11, YR02, Hair-E08, E15, E18, E19, Eyes-BG15.

It's Not Easy Being Green

Hello, and welcome here. If you grew up with the Muppets you'll recognize my Post Title, it refers to Kermit the Frog. Which come to think of it, may be why green is my favourite colour...and frogs my favourite animal:) Nope, I'm not kidding, I love frogs!

I wasn't finished playing around with my JustRite stamps. I CASE'd (Copied And Stamped Exactly...or almost exactly) this card from pg. 70 Card Creations: Favorite Occasions v.2.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

I picked up the new Bo Bunny Garden Girl 6x6 Collection and knew that it would be perfect for this card. The lace I had was a little to light, so I used Distress Inks to darken it. It's difficult to tell, but I added Platinum Stickles around the edge of the oval.

Inside:

Recipe: CTMH CS-New England Ivy & Colonial White, CTMH Ink- Topiary, Black & Desert Sand, CTMH SS-Eclectic Edges & Celebrate Life, Inkadinkado-Expressions, JustRite Stamps-Heart to Heart Set, Light Green Textured CS,Distress Inks-Antique Linen & Tea Dye, Nestabilities-Oval, Lacy Ovals & Labels 18, BoBunny Garden Girl 6x6 Collection, Cream Grosgrain Ribbon, Cream Lace Ribbon, Pearls, Stickles-Platinum, Foam Squares.

Hope you're enjoying your Labour Day! Tomorrow it's back to work for me, and Wednesday it's back to school for the kids.

JustRite Card and Flower Tutorial

Hello and welcome here! I have a card made with JustRite stamps that I wanted to share with you today. The idea for this card came from Stamp It Techniques Winter 2011, pg. 12 by Vanessa Menhorn. I wanted to use my scrolly JustRite stamps and when I saw Vanessa's card I was inspired. (I tried to find an online photo of her card, but had no luck...the issue was out this past spring.)

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

I love that this card is sort of like a chameleon...it's elegant enough to be used as a Wedding Card, or soft enough to be used as a Sympathy Card...even a Birthday Card.

I changed up the colours from the original card (cream and green), and used burgundy and white. I clear embossed the center scrollwork stamp and sponged Distress Inks-Pumice Stone to bring out the embossing. Using the same stamp, I used Pumice Stone and 2nd generation stamping around the edges. I coloured white pearls with Copics RV99 to match my ribbon.

I didn't have the right flower colour for the card, so I ended up making one from scratch. I have a tutorial below to show you the steps of how I did that.

Inside:

Recipe: CTMH CS-White Daisy, Textured CS-Burgundy, Distress Inks-Pumice Stone, Black Soot & Victorian Velvet, CTMH SS-Universal Backgrounds, My Mind's Eye Stamps-Lost & Found Two, JustRite Stamps-Heart to Heart Set & Kindness, Inkadinkado Stamps-Expressions, VersaMark, Clear Embossing Powder, Paper Leaves, Burgundy Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Copic RV99.

Here's the flower I had on hand but it was not the right colour. When looking at it, I thought I could come up with something similar.

Here's the card again to show you the flower. I ended up using my stipple brush to ink some colour onto it because it was a little too white. It would have been best to ink my flower before making it:)
