Graduation Card...For My Niece

Today, my niece graduated Grade 12, with honours...she had a 95% average, and won many scholarships!!! She plans on becoming a doctor. So, between the ceremony (where the power went off for 1/2 hr. due to the weather) and the party, I thought I would post the card I made for her.
.
Card Size: 4" x 6"
.
I've been checking out the Spellbinders International Guest Designer Yvonne's blog, and have been totally inspired!!!
The verse I typed up on computer, and printed onto Colonial White CS. I sure wish there were more Christian Stamps out there.

Black with a Pop of Colour - H2H12

I know, I said I'd post my card on Friday...but better late than never! This week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges it was a Colour Challenge. Those challenges are always difficult for me...I have my preferred colours, so don't mess with what works, lol:) I've been pleasantly surprised with the results of being challenged to use colours out of my comfort zone. Just take a look!
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
.
I love how the colour 'pops' off the card. I stamped the flowers with 2nd Generation Tulip, and then used my Blending Pen to add the dimension.

For the Grad!

My mom needed a Graduation Card...but with just a few requirements....{sigh} moms, ya gotta love them! She would like to see a grad hat, it needs to be feminine, but not floral, use greens and gold, but don't use pink or yellow, and it needed to have the verse Jer. 29:11 on it. Phew, just a few things to keep in mind as I was designing it. Thanks to Connie at The Scrapbook Cottage :), I had a sketch to start with, and the rest came together fairly quickly. Mom hasn't seen it yet, but I hope she likes it.
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
.
It's difficult to see, but I lined the scroll lace border with Organdy Ribbon, it has a nice sheen to it, and gives the border a little sparkle.
Recipe: Paper-My Mind's Eye-So Sophie, CTMH PP-Veranda, CTMH CS-Smokey Plum, Juniper, Colonial White & White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Smokey Plum & Black, CTMH SS-Key To My Heart, Elegant Script & Class Of, Pearls, Nestabilities-Labels 4 & Floral Accents, Martha Stewart Scroll Lace Border Punch, Ribbon, Reminisce Stickers, Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
.
For some reason, my watermark wasn't opening, so I quickly typed up one...that's why it's so tiny...hopefully it will be working for next time:)
.
Don't forget to check back on Friday....I should have my card done for Heart 2 Heart Challenges. The challenge just happens to be a colour challenge, Buttercup, Black, and Tulip.

Father's Day Card - Heart 2 Heart Challenge

This week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges, the challenge is: Scrappy of a Different Sort! You're to make something for Dad from scraps and/or recycled items.
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

This card was inspired by one I saw in the PaperWishes catalogue. The pocket, waist band, belt loops, pocket stitching and jeans tag are part of the SS-Blue Jeans. I made the belt by using Cuttlebug's Tiny Mosaic EF. I was a little frustrated because the stitching around the pocket, belt loops and waist band didn't show up as well as I would have liked, but I love the overall effect of the card. The only non-scrap I used was the CS piece to cover the card. All the other pieces were scraps!
.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Indian Corn Blue, Cocoa & Tulip, CTMH Ink-Indian Corn Blue, Outdoor Denim, Tulip & Black, CTMH SS-Blue Jeans & Doodle Alphabet, Cuttlebug EF-Tiny Mosaic, Copper Brads.

Covered Journal

Good morning!! This is not for Heart 2 Heart Challenges...I wasn't quite done my card, but check back on Friday.
.
I needed a new journal for church since I filled the other one. I unwound the wire, covered the journal, punched holes, and then rewound the wire back on.

Because I'm using it at church to write in, I didn't want to many layers etc. Can you believe it...not a foam square in sight. But I did finish it off with some ribbon. The verse I typed up on computer and printed it onto Colonial White CS. I stipple brushed Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edge, and then used the stamp pad around the edges.
.
Here's a close-up of the image by Thomas Kincade. I used Nestabilities Curved Rectangles and cut the shape out of Colonial White CS. I then used the Nestabilities as a stencil and stamped the image (so that the colonial white border would remain), and then stipple brushed Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the inside edge to give it that vintage look (with the Nestabilities still in place).
.
Recipe: CTMH PP-Bella & Veranda, CTMH CS-Colonial White, Cocoa & Smokey Plum, CTMH Ink-Petal, Thomas Kincade Streams of Living Water, Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Nestabilities-Curved Rectangles & Fleur De Lis, Martha Stewart Layered Arches, CTMH Satin Edge Organdy Ribbon, Pearls, Liquid Pearls Lavender Lace.

It's A Layout!

Yes, I have done the occasional layout. I don't have the room right now to do scrapbooking, (I need room to lay things out, and move things around) but I do really, really want to scrapbook our trip 'home' (home for my husband and I, we grew up in Southern Ontario) before too much time has passed.
.
This week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges, the challenge is: Let's Get Scrappy!
I had really wanted to have more pages done before I started posting them, but I also wanted to join in this week's challenge...so the challenge won out:)
.
Layout Size: 12" x 12"
I saved up for a Slice before I started scrapbooking our trip...I really wanted to use it for the letters. For the title, I cut the letters out of White Daisy and then chose the shadow option too. I sponged daubed the edges with Grey Flannel, and attached them together.
.

And It's Tuesday Deneen!

So where's my post, you ask? And all this after my announcement that I'll be posting Tuesday's and Friday's. I didn't get it done. Nope. Nada. Zilch. Zero. I ran out of time to upload it and type up the details. {smiles}
.
Let's hope that it rains tomorrow...bite your tongue Deneen, we've had enough rain...but it's when it's raining then I'm confined to the indoors, and can work on my cards etc., otherwise I'm lovin' the outdoors with the kiddies!
.
Ta for now!

Finally!!! It let me in.

Well, I was suppose to be typing "Good morning", but Blogger was having some issues and I could not get on until now.
.
What I wanted to let you all know is that Heart 2 Heart Challenges posts their challenge on Monday...that's the day I usually post. So, in order not to drive myself crazy by finding out the challenge, creating a project to complete the challenge, and then posting my completed project all on the same day.......
.
.......I will now be posting Tuesday's and Friday's.
.
This at least gives me an evening to get it done. Wonderwoman I sadly am not...who'd want to wear that ridiculous outfit anyways...well, maybe for money...then again, it would be a sad, sad sight.
.
See ya tomorrow!
Deneen
.
P.S. Ever wonder why I add those periods between sentences? Doesn't it just annoy ya...lol?! Well for some reason, more often than not, Blogger squishes my paragraphs together, and that ANNOYS me. I never know when it's gonna squish, so I play it safe and just add them all the time. {smiles}
