Wash Your Hands Young Lady!!

Okay, this card caused me stress the whole time I was making them. I was so afraid I was going to get it dirty...lol! I made it with thoughts for using it for a wedding card, but by not putting a sentiment on it, it could also be used for a Birthday or Shower or even Baby card.

I'm a card maker, unfortunately not a photographer. These cards are made using white CS, I just couldn't seem to photograph them well.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

There's not much to say about the card, it pretty much speaks for itself. I used Cuttlebug's Formal Circles EF & Martha Stewart Lace Doily Punch, added a white grosgrain bow, and voila, the card was done.

The inside:
Recipe: CTMH CS-White Daisy, Cuttlebug-Formal Circles EF, Martha Stewart Lace Doily Punch, White Grosgrain Ribbon. Inside: CTMH Ink-Blush, Vineyard Berry, Garden Green & New England Ivy, CTMH SS-Life Is So Good (I love that SS!!!)

Flyin' High

I was inspired by my own artwork...lol. The box I made last week (07/20/09 Post) got me thinking how I could use that airplane. And here's the card I imagined:

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

I made the banner from a template I drew. Then I stamped the image and clear embossed the words. Both the plane and the banner are attached using 3D Foam Squares. The 'tow rope' is CTMH Black Hemp, I used a dot of Liquid Glass to hold the loop in the 'rope'.

Recipe: CTMH Paper Pack-Stardust, CTMH SS-Moonstruck, White Daisy & Honey, CTMH Ink-Black & Grey Flannel, CTMH SS-Flyin' High & Little Boys, CTMH Black Hemp, Clear Embossing Powder, 3D Foam Squares, CTMH Black Eyelet, CTMH Liquid Glass, Black Sharpie Marker

What A Great Day!

What a great day, isn't it? I made a happy, warm fuzzy feeling card for you today. Hope it puts a smile on your face. It's a top folding card.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
I used 3D Foam Squares to attach the image to the front of the card. The image is coloured with pencil crayons (I have so got to get me some Copics...until then, I'll use my trusty ol' pencil crayons). I sponge daubed the edges of the B&T paper. I used the edge of my stamp pad around the image to get the 'hatches'.

Here's the inside:
Recipe: CTMH L2 Paper-Let's Get Together, CTMH CS-Olive, Buttercup, Tulip & White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, Tulip & Topiary, CTMH SS-What A Great Day, Grosgrain Ribbon, Pencil Crayons, 3D Foam Squares.

It's A Card, It's A Box, It's Supercard!

I found a card that's part of the box, and the box has a little drawer to pull out. Now how cute is that!!

I found the instructions HERE, by Maya Stenshagen. But because they were in metric, I had to come up with imperial measurements. (On a side note--not that metric is a problem, but I didn't even realize that my cutter only had imperial on it until I went to start cutting the paper in metric...LOL).

STEP 1
The card/box piece:

STEP 2
The drawer piece:

STEP 3
Decorate your pieces before gluing.

STEP 4
Glue your pieces together.
And you're done!

Here's one completed with the drawer inside.

The little tag is attached using 3D Foam Squares. I used Ivory Organdy ribbon on the tag, it matches the handle on the drawer.

Here's the card/box part opened, and the drawer pulled out. I used a Stipple Brush to apply Vineyard Berry ink around the edges, to soften the look.

Recipe: CTMH Paper Pack-More To Adore, CTMH CS-Colonial White, Cocoa & Vineyard Berry, CTMH Ink-Cocoa, Vineyard Berry, Black & Grey Flannel, CTMH SS-Treasure Life, Pewter Large Conchos, Ivory Organdy Ribbon, Coluzzle Tags Template, Martha Stewart Lace Doily Punch, 3D Foam Squares, Pink Rhinestones.
Okay, so what little boy wouldn't want a box to put a few little treasures in?

The airplane is attached with 3D Foam Squares, the words, and stars under the plane, are clear embossed.
The big star is outlined with Prisma Glitter.

The sides of the drawer I left blank (I didn't cover it with paper), so that it wouldn't be too snug to pull open.

The 'handle' is Black Grosgrain Ribbon attached using Button Nail Heads.
Recipe: CTMH Paper Pack-Stardust, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Honey & Outdoor Denim, CTMH Ink-Tulip, Black, Grey Flannel & Honey, CTMH SS-Flyin' High & Little Boys, Mini Black Brads, Clear Embossing Powder, Prisma Glitter, Star Punch, Swirl Punch, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver Button Nail Heads

And one for all the little girls to store their treasures too!

What little girl doesn't love flowers and hearts? I added some 'bling' by adding Rhinestones to the heart and flowers.

Here's the inside, I wrote 'This Treasure Belongs To:' on the tag. The 'handle' is made from CTMH Hollyhock Ricrac Ribbon.
Recipe: CTMH Paper Pack-Daydream, CTMH CS-White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Tulip, Spring Iris & Outdoor Denim, CTMH SS-Annotations & All My Love, CTMH Ribbon-Hollyhock Ricrac, Prima Flowers, Rhinestones, Dollarama Punch, Flower Punch, Corner Punch

I hope you enjoyed them as much as I do! I sure had a lot of fun making them.

Enjoy,
Deneen

Pull-Out Card

I finally got around to trying out this template by Jeanette Lynton, the founder of Close To My Heart. It's a pull-out card, so you don't really need an envelope (unless you're mailing it, of course).
Card Size: 6" x 3.5" (6" x 3" without the round pull-out tab on the side)

You can find the template HERE.

I didn't make the inside piece as wide as the template calls for. Because of the fold, it wanted to stick out a bit, and it was hard to pull out because it was shoved in so far.
I used the Stipple Brush around the edges of the pull-out card piece to soften the edges. The flourish in the corner is 2nd Generation stamped and then 1st Generation highlight. I added some Rhinestones to the center of the flowers.
Recipe: CTMH Paper Pack-That's Amore, CTMH CS-Colonial White, CTMH Ink-Tulip & Chocolate, CTMH SS-My Mom & Free Spirit, Prima Flowers, Rhinestones, Grosgrain Ribbon, Colonial White Ricrac.
Enjoy,

A...Whachamacallit...Card

I've seen several cards around like this, it's not really a pop-up card, it's more of a cut-out card.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

Here's what it looks like from the side:

And opened:

I didn't have a template, but I knew that I needed the finished card size to be 4.25" x 5.5". So I measured how big of a half-circle I would need so that the card would measure to 5.5". Here's what I came up with:
(Click on each one to enlarge)

Recipe: Francis Meyer Paper-Blue Damask, CTMH CS-Spring Iris, Lilac Mist & White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Spring Iris, Garden Green, New England Ivy, Blush & Vineyard Berry, CTMH SS-Life Is So Good, Cuttlebug Vintage Die, Martha Stewart Lace Doily Punch, Grosgrain Ribbon, Nestabilities Scallop, Coluzzle.

Thinking of You

What was I thinking!?! Of you of course *smiles*. I actually stepped out of my colour box and worked with different colours than I normally do. The colour inspiration actually came from the display at the front of my church...lol. Green & Brown. So I thought, hmmmm, I never thought of those two colours together, I've got to go try them on a card.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

And here's my creation:
I gold embossed 'Thinking of You', and attached it using 3D Foam Squares. I used first and 2nd Generation stamping for the flowers.
Here's the inside:
(because I make up 6 cards at a time, I tend to try and keep them general so that I can use them for a variety of situations).
Recipe: CTMH Paper-Sweet Leaf B&T, CTMH CS-Cocoa, Topiary & Colonial White, CTMH Ink-Dutch Blue & Topiary, CTMH SS-Sweet Flowers, Gracious Greetings & Love Flourishes (inside), Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Brads, 3D Foam Squares.
Boy, I'll tell you, this card gave me quite some grief. I love the final card, but to get there was quite a journey....cuttlebug the background, no cuttlebug the background, sponge daub the edges, no sponge daub the edges, cuttlebug the background with a different folder, no cuttlebug the background with a different folder, use my frame punch, no use my frame punch, use die cut corners, no use die cut corners, use ribbon, no use ribbon.....phew, I haven't had a card cause me such grief in a long time. Hope you enjoy the final look as much as I do!
Enjoy,
Deneen

Box Cards!!!

Yes, you read correctly, the card is the box...lol.
Tada!!! Here's what it looks like opened.

I found the template Here, by Deb Duz Scrappin'.
(Just click on the template to view larger)
I found that the Box Top piece needed to be 4 2/16" x 4 2/16". (I glued patterned paper onto CS...that may be why it needed to be a bit bigger.)

Here are a few Box Cards that I created...it was so hard to stop, I wanted to keep creating.
The corner bits could also be covered, but I left them white. Or you could put photos inside instead of covering it with paper.
Recipe: CTMH L2 Paper-That's Amore, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Blush, Chocolate, Garden Green & Tulip, CTMH Ink-Blush, Tulip & Black, CTMH SS-For Mom, Cuttlebug EF-Textile, Cuttlebug Die-Vintage, Rhinestones, Prima Flowers.
Here's another one:

I didn't get a good shot of the bow on the lid so here's a better one to show you:
I left this one blank because I thought it could be used for a wedding, or shower, or birthday card.
Recipe: CTMH L2 Paper-Floral Impressions, CTMH CS-Amethyst & White Daisy, Cuttlebug EF-Formal Circles, Cuttlebug Die-Vintage, Chalk, Rhinestones, Martha Stewart Doily Lace Punch, CTMH White Daisy Organdy Ribbon, 3D Foam Squares.
This is one of my favourites:

The flowers are attached using 3D Foam Squares.
Here's a look at the box in the 'closed' position. There's room to add a few treats in there.
Recipe: CTMH L2 Paper-Emporium, CTMH CS-White Daisy & Vanilla Cream, CTMH Ink-Black, Chocolate, Garden Green, New England Ivy, Tulip & Twilight, CTMH SS-Joy Forever, Rhinestones, 3D Foam Squares, Michaels Dashes, Dots & Checks Ribbon.

Here's one that's similar to the last box:
Recipe: CTMH L2 Paper-Emporium, CTMH CS-White Daisy & Vanilla Cream, CTMH Ink-Black, Tulip, Twilight, Chocolate, Garden Green & New England Ivy, CTMH SS-Joy Forever, Rhinestones, 3D Foam Squares, Prima Flowers, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestone Brad.
I'm off to create some more, there are so many possibilities......I'd love to see your creations, leave a link in the comments section!!
Enjoy,
Deneen
