Heartfelt Creations Dahlia Bouquet Card

Hello and welcome here!  I'm away on holidays this week so this post was typed up last week, hopefully all goes well and you are reading it on Wed. July 17th.  It's time again for more Heartfelt Creations inspiration and this week I'm sharing one of July's New Release stamp sets called Dahlia Bouquet.

Card Size:  5" x 7"
I stamped the image onto white CS and then cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 8, taking care not to cut off the leaves.  I then coloured in the image using Copic Markers.  I had my paper chosen before I started so I knew what colours to go with.  (Sometimes I do it the other way around, colour and then choose my papers to match.)  I used paper from the Posy Patch Paper Collection.

I've started taking pictures of my cards at an angle, just for another view of it. For the frame around the image/sentiment, I wanted to use Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 but it was too small, so I thought I had this brilliant idea to cut 1 into 4 pieces and just use them to mat the corners...I wasn't happy enough with the result and ended up cutting out 2 Decorative Labels 8, and fussy cutting corners and pieces to make a frame.  Yes, it was a bit time consuming, but I'm much happier with the end result the second time around.

Inside:
For the inside of my card I used one of the sentiments that come with the Posy Patch papers, I then used my Copics - B52, BG11, BG90, YR30 & Y21 - to add a touch of colour so that the flowers would match the ones on the outside of my card.

Copics Used:
Teal Flowers - B52, BG11, BG75, Y21
Cream Flowers - Y21, Y26, YR30, YR23
Greenery - YG91, YG93, YG99
Background - YR30, Y32
Outline - W3

Recipe:  HC SS-Dahlia Bouquet & Heartfelt Expressions, HC PP-Posy Patch Paper Collection, HC Die-Decorative Blossom Corner, CTMH White Daisy CS, Bazzill Mono light & dark teal CS, Memento Black Ink, Foam Squares, Spellbinders-Decorative Labels 8 & Labels 8, Black CS to mat the sentiment inside.

I really like the floral display on this card, especially that you made the stamped image extend beyond the edge of the die. Well done! Nice color choiced, too. Looking forward to seeing more of your work on Heartfelt Creations.
