Here's one I made...don'tcha just love it. I love the pearl accents, it seem to finish the ornament nicely.
Instructions:
Welcome here, you can find me by following the bits of paper and glitter, and hopefully I can interest you in following me on my journey with paper.
Hello there, happy February. I participated in a swap a couple of months ago, hosted by CTMH sister Lisa A. I finally received the other cards and wanted to share our creations with you.
It was a great swap idea...Lisa sent paper and embellishments to each participant, and we would make a card with what she sent and return them to her. There were 6 participants per round, but we only made 5 cards (we didn't receive our own back).
I participated in 5 rounds.
Round 1
Here's the card I sent.
Here are the 5 cards I received.
Round 3
Here's the card I sent.
For the last card, I used the embossed lines as stems. Next time I'll sand them a little more.
Here's a close-up of the stems.

Recipe: CTMH PP-That's Amore, CTMH CS-Blush & White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Garnet, Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl EF, Black Sharpie Marker, Martha Stewart Arch Lattice Punch, Ribbon, Pearls.
This one is for a guy, hopefully it doesn't seem too feminine with the poinsettia's. I didn't have a holly branch punch so I improvised.
Recipe: CTMH PP-Evensong, CTMH CS-New England Ivy & Garden Green, CTMH Ink-Garnet, Cuttlebug Argyle EF, Martha Stewart Branch Punch, Black Sharpie Marker, Red Rhinestones, Corner Rounder.
This one is for a couple, so I didn't want to make it too masculine or too feminine.
Recipe: CTMH PP-Aspen, CTMH CS-Outdoor Denim & Colonial White, CTMH Ink-Crystal Blue, Outdoor Denim & Garnet, CTMH SS-Flurries, CTMH Colonial White Ricrac, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Cuttlebug Snowflake EF, Corner Rounder, Foam Square.
I wanted to try and see if I could make a fuzzy-like top section. The results, well, let's just say I tried. I used Liquid Applique and heated it. It's not my favourite, but it will do.
Recipe: Same as above, except instead of Ricrac, I used Liquid Applique.
Enjoy your Christmas holidays!!

After I got over the shock, I sponge daubed the edges of the torn pieces, and place the pieces randomly on the card front. I then trimmed all the edges, and finally sponged daubed around the card edges.
I then cut a piece of Sookwang double-sided tape smaller than the card so that it would look like a panel, attached it directly to the card front, I added my glitter, and then finished it off using a black Sharpie marker to outline my panel.
I really loved how it turned out!

Some information on the Burnished Velvet Technique. (Source: Wikipedia)
(I tried quickly to see if there was a website/blog for these ladies just before I posted, but I didn't have any luck...if there is, feel free to let me know, thanks.)
The Burnished Velvet Technique was developed by two women in Vancouver, Canada, Deanna Pannell and Haroldine Wingfield.
The Burnished Velvet technique involves applying ultrafine glitter to one side of double sided sticky tape, then burnishing the glitter with the fingers. The burnishing brings out the glitter's natural sheen plus prevents colors from running together if two or more colors are used in a masking technique.
Here's a close-up of my card & the Burnished Velvet Technique:
It's a difficult technique to photograph, but IRL it's breath taking and will illict oh's & ah's. Later this week I plan to post another card using this technique, so check back.Recipe: CTMH CS-Moonstruck, Dutch Blue & White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Moonstruck, Cornish Heritage Farms SS-Thomas Kincade The Night Before Christmas, Sookwang Double Sided Tape, Crystal Glitter Ritz Cool Highlight, White Organdy Ribbon
Enjoy,
