Whew, that was a mouthful. I couldn't justify buying Cuttlebug's Christmas Ornaments E.F. I couldn't of how I'd use it...until I thought about cutting the ornaments out. And then I remembered I had Aluminum Duct Tape...which you can buy at any hardware store...and I thought they'd make great ornaments.
Here's what the Aluminum Duct Tape looks like. It's just like tinfoil, but has adhesive on the back. Here are the two cards I made with the Christmas Ornaments E.F.. I embossed a piece of duct tape, and then cut them out. I used scissors, and for the finer cutting an X-acto knife. I loved the pop of colour with the ribbon...I just don't like the glue I used showing through...I will fix that when I make more. I coloured in the ornaments with a blue Sharpie marker.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Moonstruck, Black, Spring Iris and White Daisy, CTMH Ink-New England Ivy, CTMH SS-Autumn's Treasures, CTMH Connections Club Reward Grosgrain Ribbon, Aluminum Duct Tape, Christmas Ornaments E.F., Swirls E.F., Blue Sharpie Marker.
Here's a close-up to show how reflective the ornaments are.
I hope this inspires you to think outside the box. I like to think of how I can expand on the obvious.
Enjoy,

Yet Some More Christmas Cards!
I have so enjoyed creating Christmas cards this last while, I can't seem to stop. So I thought I'd spread some joy, and share them with you.
This card I created around the Cuttlebug Forest Branches E.F.. I also wanted to try non-tradional colours. I was pleased with how well it turned out. I really wasn't sure I liked it until I put it all together.
The next 2 cards I created for a friend's cell group. They wanted to make 2 Christmas cards and these were the ones I came up with for them. I cut all the pieces of CS ahead of time. They could either copy the examples, or design their own with the pieces of CS.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Vineyard Berry, Outdoor Denim, Spring Iris and White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Vineyard Berry, Ponderosa Pine, Cocoa and Outdoor Denim, CTMH SS-Evergreen, Say It In Style and Adorable Backgrounds, Red Grosgrain Ribbon.
The sparkles hanging from the pine boughs was lifted from a CTMH Sista, Bren Yule.
Recipe: CTMH CS-White Daisy, Everlasting B&T, New England Ivy and Olive, CTMH Ink-Black, Bamboo, Cocoa, Ponderosa Pine and New England Ivy, CTMH SS-Christmas Scripts, Twas the Night Before Christmas, Autumn's Treasures and Weathered Backgrounds, Sparkles.
Thanks for looking, I'll be sharing some more tomorrow.
Enjoy,
Deneen

I shot this close-up because the sentiment was originally straight, but the stamp was just calling out to be curved. So, because CTMH stamp sets are Acrylic, I could do that right on the block!
Here's the sentiment in its original position.
Here's what it looks like curved, on the block. Isn't that great!!!! It's like having 2 stamps in 1.
I really loved how this card turned out. Yesterday, I explained what 2nd Generation stamping is. Here is another example of that technique. The pine trees in behind the dark ones are 2nd generation. The 'Peace On Earth' is gold embossed.

More Christmas Cards!!!
I just love Christmas time, don't you?
Here are some more cards I've been working on. I hope you enjoy them.
I used Snowflakes E.F. and then sanded it to bring out the texture. I used pencil crayons to colour in the picture, and the CTMH Edge Distressor on the oval.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Vineyard Berry, Spring Iris, Outdoor Denim, White Daisy and White Daisy Textured CS, CTMH Inks-Vineyard Berry, Black, Lilac Mist and Outdoor Denim, CTMH SS-Frosty Friends, Greeting Tree, and Romantic Backgrounds, Grey Flannel Marker, Sparkles, Prisma Glitter, Snowflake E.F., Pencil Crayons.

Here's a close-up of the snowmen coloured in with pencil crayons.
I had used Prisma Glitter for the tassel on the hat, and the fluff on the boot tops.
I love the Angel Sent stamp set from CTMH, isn't she cute? I used Aspen B&T paper from CTMH. The border is Cuttlebug's Frills E.F., which I then sanded to bring out the white core. I finished it off with some red ribbon to give the card a pop of colour.
Recipe: CTMH CS-White Daisy, Twilight, Outdoor Denim, White Daisy Textured CS, CTMH Aspen B&T paper, CTMH Ink-Black, Outdoor Denim and Grey Flannel, CTMH SS-Angel Sent, Beauty of Christmas and Gracious Greetings, Clear E.P., Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Frills E.F.
I totally 'lifted' this card from Kathi Carlson. I just love green, and they way it has such a soft elegant look. I used 2nd Generation stamping (where you load your stamp with ink, stamp the image on a scrap piece of paper, and then stamp the next image on your CS...it produces a lighter version of the image). I then stamped the two trees outside the box, and then clear embossed them. It's difficult to see, but the card has a green border.

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas!
I thought I would share some cards I have been working on lately. I was bit by the Christmas bug.
This card was inspired by my friend Lydia Dueck. I like the simplicity of it. I stamped the background wood grain and then stamped the pine boughs on top. I Clear Embossed berries on Cranberry CS and finished it off with a Black Hemp bow.
This card was inspired by another CTMH Consultant (sorry, I didn't write her name down). I Gold embossed the letters, matted them, and used scallop scissors. I used Liquid Glass to attach the ribbon.
I used the Cuttlebug EF Forest Branches, and sanded them to add dimension. I used Prisma Glitter to highlight the snow banks. I finished it off with Liquid Applique so that it was gently snowing. The photo is blurry, but it shows the Prisma Glitter. Ooooooo, it's so pretty.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Outdoor Denim and White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, Outdoor Denim, Grey Flannel and Cranberry, CTMH Stamp Sets-Annotations and Snow Friends, Forest Branches EF, Liquid Applique, Prisma Glitter, Pencil Crayons.
This card I made last year. First I wrinkled the CS and then I brayered over it with a darker blue to highlight the wrinkles. The edges are sanded. I added Prisma Glitter to the wings, and Gold Embossing Powder to the halo.Again, the photo is blurry, but it shows the Prisma Glitter glittering away.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Indian Corn Blue, Vineyard Berry and White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, Outdoor Denim and Grey Flannel, CTMH SS-Angelic Animals and Greeting Tree, Prisma Glitter, Pencil Crayons.

Recipe: CTMH CS-Black, Bamboo and Cranberry, CTMH Ink-Desert Sand, Chocolate and Ponderosa Pine, CTMH SS-Weathered Backgrounds, Autumn's Treasures and Christmas Scripts, Gold EP, Clear EP, Black Hemp.
This card I copied out of CTMH's Autumn/Winter '06 Idea Book. It was a card kit, but I liked the colour combination, so I made from scratch. For the Christmas trees I cut triangles, and then cut little slits out of them to make it look like a tree. How cool is that? I finished the trees off with a gold brad on top.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Cocoa, Vineyard Berry, Bamboo and New England Ivy, CTMH Ink-Bamboo, New England Ivy and Black, CTMH SS-Christmas Scripts, New England Ivy Bigger Brad, Gold Brads.
Recipe: CTMH CS-White Daisy, Vineyard Berry and Colonial White, CTMH Ink-Vineyard Berry, CTMH SS-Adorable Backgrounds and Baroque Alphabet, Gold EP, White Grosgrain Ribbon, White Organdy Ribbon, Liquid Glass, Scallop Scissors.
I hope the Christmas card bug bites you!!
Enjoy and thanks for looking.

Swap Items
I was involved in this great swap with some CTMH Sista's. These were the items that I made to swap. We were to make 10 baggies with 10 images in each one. We'd end up getting 90 images back!!!
We were to make images that the other person could use right away on layout or card. I'm more of a card maker, so my images leaned in that direction.
The first image is for a card. I used the Cuttlebug EF Bloom Dots as a border behind my image.
The second image is a simple Happy Birthday sentiment highlighted with 4 square pewter brads.
I tried to make a variety of images. One for a baby, which I coloured in with pencil crayons, and one for a shower, wedding or birthday card.
I really liked these floral images. Again, it could be used for a birthday or wedding/shower.
For the image on the left, I embossed it in white, and then sponge daubed ink to fill in the colour. I then cut it out and used 3D foam squares to attach it to the background.
I punched textured white CS with my oval scallop punch and then went around each scallop and punched a hole with my hole punch to give it a lacy feel.
Enjoy, and thanks for looking,
Deneen

Scripture Cards
I needed some Scripture cards, and tried to make ones that can be used for Sympathy, Thinking of You, Get Well etc.
For this card, I wanted a sort of monochromatic-type card. I used chalk to fill in the lighthouse image and used glitter to make the light sparkle. I used the computer to print the sentiment on CS, and then punched it out using my oval scallop punch.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Moonstruck, Lilac Mist, Black and White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Moonstruck, CTMH SS-Adorable Backgrounds and Nantucket Retreat, Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, VersaMark Ink, Chalk, Glitter, 3D Foam Squares.
Here's a close-up of the Lighthouse.
For this card I used the 23rd Psalm from CTMH SS Come Unto Me as the focal point. I really like how it looks like old parchment.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Chocolate, Bamboo, Black, Brown Bag and Vanilla Cream, CTMH Ink-Chocolate, Bamboo and Black, CTMH SS-Come Unto Me and Adorable Backgrounds, Chalk, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Photo Hanger.
Here's a close-up of the sentiment. I used the edge of the chocolate ink pad to edge the sentiment, and then went over it with chalk to soften it and give it that aged look.
The Bamboo CS underneath, I wrinkled first, and then went over it with the stamp pad to highlight some of the wrinkles. Here's a close-up of that.
This is the inside of the card, I wanted it to be strong because I used the 23rd Psalm as a focal point on the front. The dove is from the CTMH SS Faith.
This card is straight forward. I used CTMH SS Elegant Script to spell 'praying'. I used chalk to make the flower pop. I sponge daubed the edges to soften the look.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Indian Corn Blue, Outdoor Denim and White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Outdoor Denim, Black, Grey Wool and Lilac Mist, CTMH SS-Elegant Script, Doodle Alphabet, For Every Occasion and Sweet Flowers, VersaMark Ink, Chalk, Pewter Brads.
I kept the 'Praying For You' sentiment, but changed the look of the card. I inked the flower and stems, and then went over them with chalk to soften the look.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Garden Green, Spring Iris, New England Ivy and White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, Grey Wool, Lilac Mist, Spring Iris, Garden Green, CTMH SS-Elegant Script, For Every Occasion and Doodle Alphabet, Chalk, Prima Flowers, Glitter.
As you can tell, I really like the one stamp from CTMH SS Adorable Backgrounds. I coloured in the hands with pencil crayons and chalk around the hands with a grey colour to highlight them. The sentiment I attached with a 3D foam square.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Garden Green, New England Ivy, Outdoor Denim and White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, CTMH SS-Faith and Adorable Backgrounds, Garden Green Bigger Brad, White Organdy Ribbon, Chalk.
I love making cards! I gotta go make some now, lol.
