Swap Items
I was involved in this great swap with some CTMH Sista's. These were the items that I made to swap. We were to make 10 baggies with 10 images in each one. We'd end up getting 90 images back!!!
We were to make images that the other person could use right away on layout or card. I'm more of a card maker, so my images leaned in that direction.
The first image is for a card. I used the Cuttlebug EF Bloom Dots as a border behind my image.
The second image is a simple Happy Birthday sentiment highlighted with 4 square pewter brads.
I tried to make a variety of images. One for a baby, which I coloured in with pencil crayons, and one for a shower, wedding or birthday card.
I really liked these floral images. Again, it could be used for a birthday or wedding/shower.
For the image on the left, I embossed it in white, and then sponge daubed ink to fill in the colour. I then cut it out and used 3D foam squares to attach it to the background.

Scripture Cards
I needed some Scripture cards, and tried to make ones that can be used for Sympathy, Thinking of You, Get Well etc.
For this card, I wanted a sort of monochromatic-type card. I used chalk to fill in the lighthouse image and used glitter to make the light sparkle. I used the computer to print the sentiment on CS, and then punched it out using my oval scallop punch.

For this card I used the 23rd Psalm from CTMH SS Come Unto Me as the focal point. I really like how it looks like old parchment.

Here's a close-up of the sentiment. I used the edge of the chocolate ink pad to edge the sentiment, and then went over it with chalk to soften it and give it that aged look.
The Bamboo CS underneath, I wrinkled first, and then went over it with the stamp pad to highlight some of the wrinkles. Here's a close-up of that.
This is the inside of the card, I wanted it to be strong because I used the 23rd Psalm as a focal point on the front. The dove is from the CTMH SS Faith.

I have some more cards that I have done over the past couple of years and wanted to share with you.
This card was inspired by Heather Holbrook, a CTMH Sista. I used fancy scissors to cut a frame for the picture, and then used 3D foam squares to attach it to the card. I used liquid glass to highlight the ladybug's antenna. I used a sponge and ink to add some texture to the green background.

Some More Miscellaneous Cards.
I thought I'd post a few more cards I've done over the past year or so.
This card was inspired by Lydia D. I stamped the sentiment on white CS and cut it out so that there was a bit of a white border. I like how it's glued off-center on a piece of solid CS. This card also uses 2nd Generation Stamping. That means that before you stamp on your CS, you stamp it first on a piece of scrap paper, and then stamp what ink is left on the stamp, onto your CS.
The photo doesn't show the vibrancy of the colour very well, but the textured green CS is nice and bright...CTMH Sweet Leaf CS. Again, I used 2nd Generation Stamping for the flowers and stems. The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder.
I like the weathered look of this card. I stamped the flower first, then wrinkled the CS, and then highlighted some of the more prominent wrinkles. This stamp set...Cherish...from CTMH uses a two stamp method to achieve the highlighted look of the flower.
Here's the same flower, but with a different look. I stipple brushed colour around the flower and stem to soften the look. The sentiment is embossed with gold embossing powder on vellum.
I like the look of the frame around the flower. Again, the sentiment is embossed with gold embossing powder on vellum.
This card actually goes back 3 years. I liked the random stamped background, and then using the same stamp as a focal point.

Okay, I have to start paying more attention to where I find some of my ideas I share with you, so that I can give credit where credit is due.

Here's a quick run-down of how to make them.
I bought these writing tablets at Dollarama. I then took them to Staples, and they cut them in half for me for $1. (I bought 5 tablets, and ended up with 10 notepads...all for $6)
To find out the length of CS I needed, I measured the length...mine was 9".
And I measured the binding...
plus what I wanted to hang over the front.
I like to make scallops on mine (see tutorial below on how to make scallops with your corner rounder), so I leave some CS on each side, and end.
Before I glue my CS to the pad of paper, I score where the folds will be.
I fold the first score line, and mark where to score the second score line.
Don't forget to cut the cover off the pad of paper.
I like to put the glue on the pad of paper, and then 'wrap' my CS around the corners....rather than putting the glue on the CS.
And that's it! Nice and quick.
