Castle Card, Template & Instructions

I am so excited to share my card with you today. I had seen a castle book in the Sept. '09 issue of Beautiful Cards (pg.35). You buy the book and embellish it. Well, I figured maybe I could make a template for one...why buy it if I can make it...then I could share it with you all.

And here's my card:
Card Size: 8.5" x 5.5"

Isn't it just the coolest thing!!?!! I'm so excited, and pleased with how well it turned out....flowers, glitter and rhinestones oh my.

Here's the one side open. I didn't embellish much on the inside because I didn't want things to get squished when it was closed for delivery.

Here's the other side. (I have yet to add my name and other info to the back page.)

Here are some close-ups of the details.
For the number, I stamped the '9' on CTMH Blush CS, covered it with Liquid Glass and then added Prisma Glitter...it looks like chipboard...I attached it with Foam Squares.

The roof is also covered with Prisma Glitter, I followed the swirl pattern on the paper.

Here's a view of all the glitter glittering away.
Recipe: CTMH Paper Pack-Daydream, CTMH CS-Blush, White Daisy & Outdoor Denim, CTMH Ink-Blush, Outdoor Denim, Black & Vineyard Berry, CTMH SS-Doodle Alphabet, Atomic Caps, Atomic Lowercase, Card Commentary & Rustic Numbers, Galaxy Marker Pink, Liquid Glass, Prisma Glitter, Prima Flowers, Rhinestones, Rhinestone Brads, Nestabilities Labels Four, Martha Stewart Doily Lace Punch.

Now, on to what you've all been waiting for.....
THE TEMPLATES:

Template A measures 8.5" x 11"

Template B measures 3.75" x 11"
THE INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1
  • Print templates on 8.5" x 11" CS.
  • Cut out castle pieces.
  • Score on dotted lines.
Step 2
  • Overlap Piece B onto Piece A.
  • Glue Pieces together.
Step 3
  • Fold.
  • Embellish.
Enjoy making Castles!!! It sure was alot of fun adding all that glitter!
Enjoy,
Deneen

I just love this castle card! I will be making several for neices. Do you have any other shape cards? LOVE IT!

Deneen said...

Hi Jeanne,
I'm glad you enjoyed making some castles!

You can check for other shaped cards under the category Labels, Cards-shaped/Funfold.

I'll take any suggestions for other shaped cards that may need a template. I really love creating cards and then sharing any knowledge.

Thanks,
Deneen

I am having trouble printing out the castle card template. It doesn't seem to print at the right size. I am not very good with computer stuff. Maybe you have a way for me to save it and then print it. I click on the template but it is just not right.

Hi Kathy!
Welcome here, I'll try to help you out. One thing to try...have you double clicked on the image to enlarge it, then right click on it, and select print. Another option would be to move the cursor over the template, right click, choose copy, open a Word document (make sure to change the page layout...File, then Page Setup, select Portrait), right click in Word and choose Paste. The template will copy small, but then choose a corner and drag it until it fills the page.

Hope that helps...I might have given more info than you may need, but I wasn't sure how computer savy you were.

Let me know how it goes.

Oops, under Word, choose Landscape, not Portrait....sorry.

I absolutely fell in love with your castle cards. I seen them recently and just had to give it a try. Thank you for sharing the template. I finally was able to finish mine. If you want to have a look you can go to my blog. I did mine a little different because I forgot to draw the gate at the front that is what happens when you try to rush. I had lots of fun making this card and I do intend on doing more of these. I hope you didn't mind me linking your site to mine to give you credit.

this is absolutely what I was looking for.
I'll use it to make a card for a "card drive" for a 4 years old girl who has a cancer, and loves princesses... no doubt she'll be happy with it, so a big THANK YOU
