Cuttlebug Mania April Showers Challenge

Hello and welcome here!  It's time for another Cuttlebug Mania Challenge.  And since it's April, April showers bring May flowers...April Showers is the challenge.  Anything that has to do with rain.  And don't forget to use your Cuttlebug.

Challenge - April Showers
For a chance at winning an awesome prize, link your creation over at Cuttlebug Mania.

Challenge runs for 2 weeks.

Don't forget to let us know how you used your Cuttlebug
Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
I wanted to use my new stamp set and try adding drops to the flower petals.  The stamp set is Peony Bouquet from Altenew and the drop video I watch is by Jennifer Dove.  I coloured the peony with Copic Markers and the center I stamped and fussy cut and added with foam squares.

Inside:

I should have tried the drops on just a plain background first, but hey, I like to live on the edge, lol.  Using a coloured background (the flower petal) it made it a bit difficult shading the shadow for my first time trying it.

Copics Used:
Flower - R81, R83, R85, 0
Droplets - R83, R85, 0, BV23, BV20

Recipe:  PP-Graphic 45 Time to Flourish Collection March Cut Apart & My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side "Sawyer", Bazzill CS-purple & Prismatics Herbal Garden Dark, CTMH CS-White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, Memento Ink-Black Tuxedo, CTMH SS-Say It In Style, Altenew SS-Peony Bouquet, Hero Arts SS-Huge Hugs, Spellbinders-Fancy Lattice & Labels 17, Memory Box Tiffany Frame, Cheery Lynn-Mini Fanciful Flourish Right, My Favorite Things Inside/Out Stitched Rectangle, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Copic Markers, Foam Squares, Raindrop Accents.

Cuttlebug Items Used:
Spellbinders Fancy Lattice Die
Spellbinders Labels 17 Die
Memory Box Tiffany Frame Die
Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish Right Die
My Favorite Things Inside/Out Stitched Rectangle Die

Hope you'll join us for the April Showers Challenge.

Cuttlebug Mania Anything Goes Challenge & Short Tutorial

Hello and welcome here!  It's September, can you believe it!?!  The summer has flown by and it's back to work for me and to school for the kids.  I actually have 1 in high school this year.  I tell her to stop getting older but like any teen she doesn't listen to me, lol.

It's time to get back to my Design Team work minus 1, Top Tip Tuesday has closed but I'm still with Cuttlebug Mania and Inspired Stamps.  I'm trying to decide whether to keep it to the 2 or see if anyone has some openings.

On to our first challenge at Cuttlebug Mania, Anything Goes!  And I have 3 cards to share with you today as well as a short tutorial.

Challenge - Anything Goes
For a chance at winning an awesome prize, link your creation over at Cuttlebug Mania.
Challenge runs for 2 weeks.
Don't forget to let us know how you used your Cuttlebug!

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
I saw a card on pinterest using watercoloring and a die and had to try it out!  You can see her video tutorial HERE.  I added a photo tutorial at the end of my post of how I did it.  You emboss your die onto watercolor paper (you can find instructions HERE in case you don't know how to do that), trace the lines with your marker and then trace the marker with a waterbrush, voilĂ , done!

Inside:
Recipe:  PP-CTMH My Reflections Lucy & American Crafts Moda Bella Dazzling, CS-Bazzill grey, Strathmore 140lb Watercolor Paper, Avery Elle Simple Said Happy Die, My Favorite Things Four Corners Die, LePlume II Markers-#65 Cherry & #12 Grey, CTMH SS-Eclectic Edges & Say It In Style, CTMH Ink-Black & Blush, Foam Squares, Recollections Floral Embellishments, Rhinestones, Papertrey Ink SS-Inside & Out Birthday, Craft Lounge SS-Dandy Days.

Here's a closeup of the 'happy' that I watercolored.
LePlume II Markers Used:  #65 Cherry

Cuttlebug Items Used:
Avery Elle Simple Said Happy Die
My Favorite Things Four Corners Die

So then my brain was already thinking of the next die I wanted to try watercoloring, Memory Box's Honey Blossom Sprig.

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
Oh my goodness, it turned out AWESOME, lol!!  I think I found my new favourite technique.  I stamped a sentiment and finished it off with a bit of ribbon and used my Viva Decor Pearl Pen for detail.

Inside:
Recipe:  PP-Frances Meyer Blue Damask, Bazzill CS-blue, Strathmore 140lb Watercolor Paper, Memory Box Honey Blossom Sprig Die, LePlume II Markers-#43, #100, #15, Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders, Foam Squares, Impression Obsession SS-Sympathy Sentiments, CTMH Ink-Black, Viva Decor Cream Pearl Pen, 5/8" Blue Organza Ribbon.

LePlume II Markers Used:
Flower - #100 Sapphire & #43 Brilliant Yellow
Greenery - #15 Olive Green

And then I had to give my Tattered Lace Large Flourish a try.

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
Lots of tracing but oh so worth the effort!

Inside:
Recipe:  Bazzill CS-purple, Strathmore 140lb Watercolor Paper, Tattered Lace Large Flourish, LePlume II Markers-#15, #63 & #86, 5/8" Satin Edge Cream Organza Ribbon, Pearl Brad, CTMH Ink-Black & Petal, SS-Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings, Cornish Heritage Farms Friendly Kritters Scripture & Inkadinkado Corners, EK Success 1/4" Corner Rounder.

Cornish Heritage Farm Twine Challenge

This is my second post for today, so if you're looking for the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge, please scroll down.

For the Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge Holly has choosen:
Twine
Hemp twine, bakers twine, or even linen thread can be used.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
I decided to go with a Christmas card, I imagined twine around brown paper packages...a sort of vintage-y feel to them.  I also added twine candy canes, I used my Flower Soft wires and Sookwang double-sided adhesive! I added a clear rhinestone where the candycanes cross, it's hard to see it in the photo.

Last year's BoBunny paper had glitter on it, and I added glitter to the pine trees too, I was trying to get a shot of the glittery-ness.

I used Cornish Heritage Farms digital stamp called Winter Hills. I coloured the image with Copics and added Liquid Applique on the ground to resemble snow.

Copics Used:
Trees - G43
Fence - E33, E35
Sky - BG0000

Recipe:  CHF Digital Winter Hills, PP-BoBunny Snowfall, CTMH CS-Twilight, Chocolate, White Daisy & Colonial White, Kraft CS, Vintage Photo Distress Inks, Spellbinders-Floral Ovals & Classic Ovals, Martha Stewart Cherish Border Punch, Copics, Twine, Liquid Applique, Flower Soft Wires, Silver Ice Stickles, Rhinestones.

Cornish Heritage Farms Shaped Card

This is my second post for today, so if you're looking for the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge, please scroll down:)

Hello and welcome here.  I hope you're enjoying nice weather where you are, the leaves are already turning and the weather is getting cooler here, but it's been very nice.

For the Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge Kris has chosen:
Shaped Card

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
Boy, I tell ya, I have the hardest time photographing and editing white cards....hmmm, next time I'll try a different background.  Anyways, I found this template quite a while ago at Stampington & Co. and it's called Darling Dress, it's only in PDF format now....I have other dresses HERE if you would like more inspiration.

I used the Cornish Heritage Farms rubber stamp set called Beautiful, and it can be found in the store right now, just click on the link. I used one of the flourishes along the bottom edge of the skirt or pinafore, and along the shoulders to balance things out.  I added some pearls and a nice big satin bow to complete the dress.  The funny dots along the stamped edge on the bottom are Viva Decor Glitter dots...but it's difficult to photograph it:)

Inside:
For the inside of the card I used the same stamp set, Beautiful, and used the word 'Beautiful' that comes it, and a different flourish.  I love flourishes and this is one of my favourite sets to use.

Recipe:  CHF Rubber SS-Beautiful LL6004, CTMH CS-White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black, Distress Ink-Fadded Jeans, 7/8" Celebrate It White Satin Ribbon, Pearls, Viva Decor HoloIridescent Glitter Liner.

Cornish Heritage Farms is going in Circles

This is my second post for today, so if you're looking for the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge, please scroll down.

Our host Barb has chosen for the Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge:
 Circles, Circles, Circles
Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
I had a lot of fun designing this card.  The circles challenge was perfect for creating port holes for this seaside image.  It's called Harbor Scene and is available right now in the CHF Store, just click on the link. The black rhinestones (which are circles too!) are meant to look like rivets, and the EK Success Fountain of Fun corner punch reminded me anchors:)

The rhinestones add a nice sparkle to the card.

 Copics Used:
Sky - BG0000
Water - BG10, BG53
Boats - R08, W0, W7 & G28, G46, N7
Buildings - W5, W7, E41, E42 & E84, W5 & W1, W3, W7

Our host Barb has chosen for the Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge:
Animals

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
Okay, doesn't this just make you chuckle.  I so love cat attitude, and this stamp hits it perfectly.  This digital stamp can be found in the CHF store right now, it's called Cat In A Basket.  And I added the sentiment suitably called Don't Make Me Beg...also available right now.  There are some amazing animal digital stamps available, you need to go check them out, I had a difficult time deciding which to choose, lol.

I added a little pom-pom ball, made from yellow Baker's Twine.  I coloured the basket with Copics.

Copics Used:
Basket - E13, E15, E19, YR27, YR31, 0
Ground - W1, W3
Eyes - YG03
Background - YR30

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
I used the Cornish Heritage Farms digital stamp called Palm Trees, it's available right now in the store, just click on the link. I printed it, then cut it to the size I wanted.  I decided to sponge on some clouds...this is such a fun image with so many options, you could choose to brayer on a night sky, or sunset etc., or even sponge on colours using a circle for a mask to create a moon, or sun.

To make my card a little different I made a shadow box to frame my image.  I left off a sentiment because I wasn't sure for what occasion I would use it yet:) I also didn't add ribbon, just in case I wanted to use it for a guy!

Pretty In Pink Scripture Card

Hello and welcome here.  I have another card to share with you today.  I'm creating like crazy to have lots for my stash.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
I've seen many cards with scallops along the bottom, and so I decided to give it a try too.  And of course I'm loving the Floral Ovals, so I had to use them too, lol.  For some reason the lighting makes the pink in the paper look different, but the pink of the seam binding matches really well to the paper in real life. I shared the card I used scripture on, but I also made 2 with Happy Birthday in the oval.

Inside:
Recipe:  PP-My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dolled Up "Cute" Garden Paper, Cornish Heritage Farms SS-Thomas Kincade Scripture I & Beautiful, Verve SS-Circular Sayings, CTMH Ink-Black & Creme Brulee, Spellbinders-Classic Ovals Small & Floral Ovals, Martha Stewart Vintage Doily Border Punch, Wild Orchid Rose Petal Vintage Seam Binding, Recollections Pearl Brads, Foam Squares.

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
I used this awesome CHF digital image called Swinging! It's available in the store right now, just click on the link to take you directly there. I added my own sentiment using MS Word.  Remember how high you could swing, it felt like at any moment you would fly right out into the sky.

I added foam squares behind the window frame to give it some dimension.  I finished it off with a sparkly star and some rhinestones.

Pink Happy Birthday Window Card

Hello and welcome here.  I've been busy making cards again, and today I have a feminine birthday card to share with you. I usually layer 'up' my images ore sentiments, and often forget that you can make a window and pop that up while the sentiment or image remains on the card base. It came together quickly, gotta love that!

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
For some added interest I embossed the frame after I cut the window in my CS.  I stamped the sentiment by Flourishes in black, and for the flourish I used 3rd generation ink (it just means I stamped on a piece of paper twice, before I stamped on the sentiment). I finished off the card with a bow in the corner, and to even things out I added pearls in the opposite corner.

Inside:
Recipe:  Flourishes SS-Happy Birthday, CHF SS- Beautiful, CTMH SS-Tender Tags & Card Chatter, PP-My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks "Home" Dotted Paper, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Distress Ink-Aged Mahogany, CTMH Ink-Black, EF-Craft Concepts Budding Vine, Spellbinders-Labels 20, Wild Orchid Crafts Rose Petal Vintage Seam Binding, Recollections Floral Embellishments, Pearls, Foam Squares.

Enjoy,
Deneen

Here is my creation for some birthday inspiration.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
I love this lighthouse, it's a digital stamp and is called Lighthouse 3, it's available in the store right now!  I chose my papers first which determined what colours I was going to use (and no, I didn't realize that the design was centered so nicely, lol). I chose cooler colours as opposed to warm colours.  I also chose to make a frame, and cutout for my card.  I used vellum, coloured clouds onto it, and placed it over the cutout.  You can see the effect of the light shining through the card below.
So when the card stands open on display, light will shine through...of course not as much as I'm showing here, but it gives it a nice glow.

Here are the different layers.  I cut out the lighthouse and added foam squares behind it to give dimension. I also added them to the frame.
Here's the inside of the cover.  I don't usually like a messy look, but I figured if they see a few foam squares it's not the end of the world...I think the outside more than makes up for the few they'll see.
Recipe: CHF Digital SS-Lighthouse 3, CTMH SS-Happy Birthday, PP-Echo Park Paper Co. A Boys Life Suave,CTMH CS-Outdoor Denim & White Daisy, CTMH Vellum, Spellbinders-Labels 18, Tonic Studio Ticket Corner Punch, Stampin' Up Label Punch, Rhinestones, Foam Squares, Copics.

Copics Used:
Lighthouse - C0, C1, C3, Y11
House - C1, C3, N7
Grass - G40, G82
Sky - BG0000, BG000, BG01
